Woody Sprouse is a husband, father, grandfather, businessman, and man of faith who believes the strength of South Carolina begins at home — with strong families, safe communities, personal responsibility, and the freedom to live according to our values.
For more than forty years, Woody has built a respected career in the insurance and reinsurance industry, helping businesses, healthcare organizations, and community health plans navigate complex challenges with integrity and common sense. From his early work in health benefits to senior leadership roles with national firms, Woody earned a reputation for steady leadership, trusted relationships, and putting people before politics.
Today, Woody serves as Chief Marketing Officer of Surety Marketing and Consulting Services, where he continues to work with companies and healthcare organizations across the country. But despite his national experience, Woody has never lost touch with the values that matter most right here at home.
To Woody, titles and accomplishments matter far less than faith, family, and character.
Woody and his wife, Debi, have built their lives in South Carolina grounded in Christian faith, hard work, and service to others. For twenty-three years they have called Mount Pleasant home, and they also maintain a home in Spartanburg, where Debi's roots run just as deep. They are proud parents and grandparents who understand the challenges families face today — rising costs, concerns about education, public safety, healthcare, and protecting the freedoms that make America exceptional.
His faith is not something Woody talks about only on Sundays. It shapes how he lives, how he leads, and how he treats people. For years, he has mentored and encouraged men in their faith journeys, helping others lead with integrity, responsibility, and compassion.
Woody has also been actively involved with the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C., where he has helped foster relationships and conversations among leaders from across America and around the world. Through that work, he has learned an important lesson: real leadership begins with listening, humility, and a willingness to stand firmly for what is right.
In 2026 Woody stood for the South Carolina House in District 112, believing this community deserved representation that listens first. That chapter is preserved in the 2026 archive.
Woody never set out to become a career politician. He stepped forward because the Lowcountry is worth caring about.

Woody and Debi Sprouse are founders of SuretyMCS, a South Carolina-based insurance and risk-management business serving clients across multiple markets and jurisdictions.
Woody's career has centered on the insurance industry, with particular expertise in captive insurance, risk management and international reinsurance markets — work that has taken him across state and national borders, navigating different jurisdictions and helping businesses understand, manage and finance risk.
His businesses employ people in Mount Pleasant and across South Carolina. The companies that employ our neighbors compete in national and international markets, and decisions made in Washington or overseas can reach a South Carolina business, worker or family surprisingly quickly.
South Carolina is home. But South Carolina does not exist in isolation.
Mount Pleasant is home base, and the Lowcountry is where their life is built. The Upstate is part of the story too — Debi is from Spartanburg, where they also keep a home and where family ties run just as deep.

Woody is involved in the relationships surrounding the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, and takes part in Issachar gatherings that bring together people from different countries, professions and walks of life for conversation, friendship and prayer.
His Christian faith is not something he keeps for Sundays. It shapes how he treats people, and it frames leadership as stewardship rather than status. For years he has quietly encouraged other men in their own faith and responsibilities.
We should be firmly rooted at home without losing sight of the world beyond our horizon.

From the marshes and maritime forests to the beaches and barrier islands, Woody knows what makes the Lowcountry special. He understands the tension between preserving our natural beauty and managing the growth that comes with being one of the best places to live in America.
Whether it's better roads, protecting our beaches, or making sure Carolina Park and the northern communities get the infrastructure they need, Woody keeps speaking up for all of District 112 — not just the connected few.
