Insurance & Risk
An area of genuine professional expertise — where Woody can contribute something beyond political opinion.
Why this still matters
Insurance is not an abstraction to Woody. Decades of work in captive insurance, risk management and international reinsurance markets have shown him how risk is priced, transferred and financed — and how quickly bad structure raises the bill for everyone.
Property, auto and liability costs have climbed faster than incomes. For small employers, insurance has become a hiring decision.
Fraud and abuse in the system raise premiums for people who play it straight. That is fixable policy, not weather.
What I'm watching

- How coastal risk is priced for South Carolina homeowners and small businesses
- Captive and alternative risk structures as tools for South Carolina employers
- Reinsurance capacity and what it means for availability at home
