Education & Families
Parents deserve transparency, and teachers deserve support. Those goals are not in conflict.
Why this still matters
Families want to know what is being taught and to be part of decisions about sensitive material. That is a reasonable expectation, not a controversy.
Good schools also need stability: qualified teachers, sane class sizes, and buildings that keep up with growth.
What I'm watching
- Curriculum transparency and parental notification practices
- Local school board authority over classroom and library materials
- School capacity planning in fast-growing neighborhoods
- Teacher recruitment and retention in the Lowcountry
