Coast & Resilience
Beaches, waterways, marsh, and island access are both our heritage and our economy.
Why this still matters
Beach renourishment, drainage, and storm resilience are long-cycle commitments. They only work when funding and maintenance stay consistent between storms.
Island access — the connectors and the bridges — is a safety issue before it is a convenience issue.
What I'm watching
- Renourishment funding cycles and permitting
- Connector and bridge repair schedules
- Stormwater and drainage investment ahead of the next major storm
- Marsh and waterway protection as development pressure grows
